Planning

Name for My Music Magazine.

I sent this around my class to get my peers opinion on the name for my magazine, as the tally shows the result was 'Ardor' a name that I was particularly fond of myself. Ardor is a synonym of passion and enthusiasm and just a cool, chilled vibe. I feel I was trying to create and portray. I typed up my results in tally form on Microsoft Word, as shown below:

Fonts For My Magazine

I experimented with different fonts for my magazine which will be called 'Ardor'. I used the two websites 'DaFont.com' and 'Font Space.' This is my first bit of planning along with the choosing of my magazine name, I opted for 'Ardor' after some research. 'Ardor' is a synonym of the word 'cool' and 'passion' and 'enthusiasm'. It represents the Hip-Hop feel that I am trying to go for.

Styling Of My Models:

When styling my models I ensured they wore appropriate clothing after I briefly accumulated some images of clothing that stereotypically represent Hip-Hop and Rap music. The clothes include snapback caps, hoodies, jeans, waxed denim jeans and basketball jerseys and Jordans, as show below.

Second Drafts for my Music Magazine:

Double Page Spread:

I changed the image to direct address to relate to the reader as it was an interview and therefore, unlike the opted indirect of the front page, I felt direct address was relevant and needed in order for the reader to make that connection to the subjects of interest as they are reading their dialogue so its a more personal part of the magazine. The direct address portrays that. I also broke down the text and added pull quotes; a choice that I later employed on the second draft and final construction of my double page spread.

Computer Roughs:

Front Cover:

This is a computer rough of my front cover final construction. This computer rough shows exactly what my final construction of my Front Cover should look like and it details each convention and the positioning of them.

Contents Page:

This shows my contents page computer rough and details each convention of my final contents page construction. It also allows a lay out and structure to be formed, giving me more guidance for when completing the construction.

Double Page Spread:

This is my double page spread final computer rough, it details all the typical conventions of a double page spread and was a useful point of reference for when it came to actually constructing my final double page spread.

The Pitch:

This pitch is a podcast of me selling my product that is 'Ardor', which is a Hip-Hop/Rap magazine, I talk about my created music magazine and I justify choices made.

  1. Some evidence of planning provided. I know you have been experiencing some technology issue so hopefully this will be sorted out soon.

Nonetheless, you need to keep on top of your planning if high marks are to be achieved. Where is your pitch? You need to also provide more drafts of your work as well as computer roughs, etc. Please refer to your weekly task sheets to identify what else is currently missing.
