These are the images that I wish to use in my preliminary task, they feature four of the stars of Woking College's upcoming production of Hairspray the musical. These images will appear on the front page and contents page of my School Magazine of Pulse. I have decided to use these images because the subjects are in casual, contemporary clothes and are in casual poses and positions which compliments the feel of the magazine I wish to portray, the casual, informal, mature yet relaxed feel. The setting of the photos are in the dance studio, this connotes what students they are, what their interests are and relates them to the headline of 'Hairspray' 'Musical College Comedy'. It all subtly relates.

I feel I was successful in creating a Pulse Woking Music magazine that reflected that of the Hip Hop style that I am hoping to represent in my Music Magazine, I used one main focal image in both pages and had a white background to emphasise the images, I stuck to three main colours, yellow, red and black, these are my house colours and limited to reflect a more mature, organised, casual, informal approach that most Hip Hop magazines endeavour to create. As well as this I gained confidence in using photoshop and will be ready to create my final Music Magazine cover, contents and double page spread.
You have completed your prelim task demonstrating planning and construction ability. Your planning is good and takes account of the need to prepare well. Your final construction shows some appreciation of magazine conventions but it also shows that you will need to spend more time developing your Photoshop skills so that your final outcome for the main task is of a higher standard. Good effort nonetheless as a lot of potential is shown I like the fact that you have attempted to experiment with Photoshop to create your practice cover and contents page.
